… is what my inner voice was telling me for the last couple of weeks since I got back from my recent trip to sunny Greece.
As we all know, I love myself some tropical climate, white sandy beaches and drinking coconuts all day everyday, but once in a while i get this urge for some fresh cold mountain air and snow white mountains as far as the eyes can see.
Tignes is a commune in the Rhône-Alpes region in south-eastern France. It is located in the Savoie region with good transport links in and out of Lyon, Geneva and Chambery.
A combination of enviable snow cover, a variety of impressive terrain and a season that lasts most of the year makes Tignes one of the most dependable winter destinations in France.
Tignes shares the huge Tignes-Val d’Isère ski area with its neighbouring resort, offering 300km of pistes for all abilities served by 78 lifts. The main villages of Tignes are set on a beautiful mountain plateau and offer some of the finest lift-accessed slopes in Europe.

To make getting around Tignes quick and easy, Tignes has developed its own free shuttle service, accessing 23 stops from Tignes 1800 to Tignes Val Claret Grande Motte operating from October 1st to May 8th.
